Since the Licensing Act 2003 the basis of the law of licensing and the administration thereof has changed.
The concept of “Licensing Activites” was introduced bringing a raft of functions hitherto unlicensed within the ambit of the Act.
Premises and individuals now require separate licenses and the administraton of licensing has moved from the Magistrates’ Court to the Local Authority. In addition the appeals system has undergone procedural changes.
Since 1972 we have assisted clients in licensing matters, from simple applications through to Crown Court appeals. We are experienced in all facets of licensing law, and we were heavily involved after 2003 in the transitional changes required by the new Act, including the application for “Grandfather rights” for existing licenses.
